OP/ED – Yes, I agree with Johannes Hahn, it is “not a moment of glory for Europe”

Days ago in Kosovo we heard from Mrs. Apostolova that same tape we hear for a long time now! Brussels has become obsessed with these fairy tales presented as ‘conditions for visa liberalization’ for Kosovo and its citizens.

As a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, I would not like the government of my country to do anything due to the conditions set by Brussels, but entirely because of the need for it to be committed to its citizens and for the good of the Republic of Kosovo.

I strongly expect from the new government of my country to strongly fight against the ‘evil’, including corruption, organized crime and nepotism, because of one and the only condition; the inevitable need of the citizens of my country to live in a state that has a high-value system and not because it is asked by someone in Brussels.

In line with these, I am also not happy for not opening accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia! It is not that I was waiting for this to happen, but this is why I say to EU that they are two-faced! Yes, I agree with Johannes Hahn, it is “not a moment of glory for Europe”, but I would like to know when and which was that moment of glory of EU towards the so called Western Balkans?/ibna
