Ombudsman: No pressure on state administration for the elections

The head of the Ombudsman Office in FYROM, Ixhet Memeti has called on all stakeholders involved in the electoral process to respect and comply with the rules in order for the citizens to be able and vote freely, without any pressure or intimidation. Memeti invites the citizens to denounce any problem that they may face, while promising that with efficiency, he will intervene in all cases when human rights are violated.

“Everyone has the right to vote and not suffer any consequences. Citizens are the ones that decide. I encourage everyone to denounce any case of pressure or intimidation”, Ixhet Memeti said.

The Ombudsman invited the State Election Commission to prepare an accurate voters’ list. He also addresses to the heads of state institutions and public administration not to intimidate and put pressure on employees, as this accounts for a criminal offense. /ibna/
