“Ohrid Summer” international festival kicks off

The 55th edition of the international music festival “Ohrid Summer” started last night in Ohrid. The festival opened with the show “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff and the ensemble “La Fura dels Baus” from Spain, with music conductor Josephe Vincent.

The festival is being health in the antique theater of Ohrid and is seeing the participation of many musicians, theaters and different ensembles of classical music and ballet.

President of the country, George Ivanov opened the festival by saying that this event is enriched with musical, scenic and visual works and the participation of prominent international artists.

“We’re happy that we’ve entered the 55th edition of this festival which is enriching our soul and bringing different nations and cultures together”, Ivanov said.

Minister of Culture, Elizabeta Kanceska-Mileska said that this festival is an asset of the country and reflects multi-culturalism in the country.

The festival is seeing the participation of different names of the opera and classical music, theater from Israel, Serbia, Croatia, but also musicians from different countries of the world. The festival will last several days and there will be a variety of classical music concerts, theater shows, etc. /ibna/
