Offer for Kosovo’s KPT privatization announced, highest bid 277m Euro

Offers for purchase of 75 percent of Kosovo Post Telecommunication shares were opened. Only two companies were bidding for KPT privatization, of which the consortium of “Axos GMBH” and “Najafi Companies” won with offer of 277 million Euro.

Offers were opened by the Privatization Committee of KPT, which is expected to propose to the government the shares’ sale to thebest offer. The other pre-qualified bidding company was “M1 International”, offering half of the first amount, about 150.01m Euro.

The Privatization Committee of KPT opened the financial offers of two competitors for the privatization of 75 percent of shares of “Vala” and Kosovo Telecom. The “Axos GMBH” consortium and  “Najafi Companies” qualified as the most favorable bidders with their offer of 277m Euro. The second highest bid, 150.01m Euro came from “M1 International.”

The Privatization Committee shall recommend the most favorable offer to the government.

“It was foreseen in the tender procedure that 75 percent of the shares shall be awarded to the highest bidder,” said Minister of Economic Development Besim Beqaj.

KPT privatization was accompanied by a series of protests against the privatization process of the public company. Protests were organized by the company’s union and Vetëvendosje Movement! /ibna/
