In the recent days, there’s been a drop in the number of refugees entering FYR Macedonia.
The Ministry of Interior has published a report, stating that the number of refugees has gone down by 50%, in contrast to last month. According to the data published today, in the past 24 hours, 1492 refugees have entered the country.
The majority of them are from Syria, followed by Iraq and Afghanistan.
From 19 June until 21 December, 357, 713 refugees have entered the country and 100 thousand of them are children. Over 18 thousand children have been unaccompanied minors. The largest number of refugees are also from Syria with 202 thousand refugees, Afghanistan with over 87 thousand, Iraq with 46 thousand and then Iran, Pakistan, Palestine, Somalia and other countries.
Meanwhile, in the past seven months, only 83 people have sought asylum in the country. /ibna/
