Number of foreign tourists in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia has seen a constant rise. Kristian Dzambazovski, head of the government agency for the promotion and support of tourism, declared today that the number of tourists during the past few years has seen a growth of 100%.
“This year we expect a growth of the number of tourists and we have a figure of over 450 thousand. The majority part comes from Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Holland and Bulgaria, while new groups of tourists are coming from China and Northern America, where tourist packages are being promoted”, declared Dzambazovski.
According to him, during this year, there’s a 5% growth of the number of foreign tourists in the country and this has a positive effect in the economy.
“Currently, based on the calculations that we have made, 200 million Euros have entered the country and this has a positive effect in the budget of the country and reduction of deficit”, declared Dzambazovski.
