The convening of the National Council on Foreign Policy and the convening of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos.
More specifically, Venizelos will chair the meeting of the National Council on Foreign Policy that will take place on Monday, November 10, at 14:00, at the Foreign Ministry.
Also, on a proposal of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to the president of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs of the House, Konstantinos Tsiaras, was decided the convening of the Committee on Tuesday, November 11 at 14:00, so that Venizelos might inform its members on the latest developments in matters of foreign policy.
The meetings will be preceded by meetings of the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiades on November 7 in Nicosia and the tripartite meeting of Antonis Samaras, Nikos Anastasiades and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Cairo on November 8-9.
The meeting of the National Security Council, comes as a response to the meeting and the decisions of the Turkish National Security Council, which convened last week.
