North Macedonia: The parliamentary session for the vote of confidence in the Government is set for Thursday

The President of the Parliament Talat Xhaferi has set Thursday at 11:00 a.m. for the session in which a vote of confidence in the government will be given.

“We inform that the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia has submitted a request for a vote of confidence in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and it has been filed by the relevant departments. The Speaker of the Assembly Talat Xhaferi, in accordance with Rule 215 paragraph 2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, will convene the meeting on the request for a vote of confidence in the Government and the meeting will be held on the third day of the request for a vote of confidence in the Government, i.e. on Thursday 11 November 2021 at 11.00 a.m. In accordance with Rule 215(3) of the Assembly Rules, the time limit for convening the sitting shall commence to run on the day following the day on which the question of confidence in the Government is raised, in accordance with the advice of the Speaker of the Assembly.

The Council adds that all steps and procedures, as before, will be communicated to media representatives through the relevant services in Parliament.

MPs from VMRO – DPMNE, Alliance for Albanians and Alternative, Besa and Left have today submitted a motion of no confidence against the government. The initiative, as announced by Aleksandar Nikolovski from VMRO-DPMNE, was signed by 61 MPs.

VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski had previously stated that they would wait for Prime Minister Zoran Zaev to submit his announced resignation, but since this did not happen, the initiative for a vote of no confidence in the government was tabled in parliament this afternoon./ibna
