Today, North Macedonia President Stevo Pendarovski had a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. During their talks, President Pendarovski expressed his personal and his people’s condolences for the deaths of more than 50,000 American citizens due to COVID-19, and stated his solidarity with the American people.
The two men exchanged information on the current situation regarding the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with President Pendarovski expressing his gratitude to US Secretary of State Pompeo for the US assistance in tackling the coronavirus amounting to more than one million US dollars. The President stressed that the US assistance constituted a confirmation of the solidarity and friendship between the two countries in the face of serious challenges affecting all humanity.
At the same time, President Pendarovski thanked Mike Pompeo for his congratulations on the NATO accession of North Macedonia, as well as for the overall support of the United States, especially through its diplomacy, in achieving this strategic goal.
