North Macedonia: Mickoski calls on Pendarovski to convene a meeting of political leaders

The leader of the VMRO-DPMNE main opposition party, Hristijan Mickoski, has called on North Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski to convene a new meeting of political leaders to find a way out of the country’s crisis.

The invitation was addressed by the leader of VMRO-DPMNE in a televised interview, which will be broadcast tonight.

“I urge the President not to create unnecessary tension among the citizens in the near future; let us not challenge positions and to overcome ourselves, {..} let’s sit down and have a meeting between leaders and lay all our cards on the table”, Mickoski said.

Thirty-five members of the SDSM and their colleagues from the NSDP, LDP, the Alliance of Albanians, DPA, Besa, Alternative and members of the independent VMRO-DPMNE parliamentary group submitted a petition to the Assembly yesterday to convene an emergency session of the Assembly to confirm the decisions of the declaration of a state of emergency by the Presidentdue to the COVID-19 pandemic. /ibna
