North Macedonia football team beats Germany 2-1

The National Football Team of North Macedonia continues to make history, as on Wednesday it beat Germany 2-1 away from home, for the World Cup qualifiers.

Igor Angelovski’s team, which reached the EURO final for the first time in its history last November, managed to beat Joachim Löw’s team with the goals of 37-year-old star Goran Pandev in the added time of the first half and 21-year-old Napoli player Elif Elmas in the 85th minute. The German team had equalized in the 63rd minute from a penalty kick by klkay Gündoğan of Manchester City.

The national team of North Macedonia in the 10th group has six points, the same as Germany, after three games, while Armenia leads with 9 points in three games. Romania and Iceland have three points each and Liechtenstein is last without points.

Romania lost away with a double comeback from the undefeated in the group Armenia with 3-2. The hosts opened the scoring in the 56th minute, with a shot by Eduard Spertsyan, with Alexandru Cicaldau equalizing in the 62nd minute and ten minutes later in the 72nd minute, giving Romania a 1-2 lead. However, the hosts had not said their last word, as in the 86th minute they brought the match equal to Varazdat Haroyan and in the 89th minute to complete the comeback with a well-aimed penalty kick by Tigran Barseghyan, for the final 3-2.

For the 2nd group, Greece failed to win once again and drew 1-1 with Georgia. At the 76th minute the Greeks took the lead with an own goal by Otar Kakabadze, only to be equalized on the 78th minute by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Kosovo lost 3-1 to Spain. In two minutes 34th and 36th the Spanish team scored two goals with Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres respectively. In the 70th minute Besar Halimi managed to put one away for Kosovo to make it 2-1, with Moreno scoring again for Spain in the 75th minute for the final 3-1.

In the group standings, Spain leads with 7 points, followed by Sweden with 6, Greece with 2, Georgia with 1 and Kosovo without a point.

For the 3rd group Northern Ireland Bulgaria remained at 0-0 with the table being as follows: Italy 9 points, Switzerland 6, Northern Ireland 1, Bulgaria 1 and Lithuania 0.

In the 4th group, Bosnia and Herzegovina lost to France 0-1, from Antoine Griezmann’s goal in the 61st minute. France is top of the Group with 7 points, followed by Ukraine with 3, Finland with 2, Bosnia and Herzegovina with 1 and Kazakhstan with 1 point.

For the 9th group, Albania, as expected defeated San Marino, winning 0-2 with goals from Rey Aldo Manaj in the 63rd minute and Myrto Uzuni in the 85th minute. In the group standings, England leads with the absolute of 9 points, followed by Hungary with 7, Albania with 6, Poland with 4 and Andorra and San Marino without points./ibna
