The State Election Commission, ahead of tomorrow’s North Macedonian Security Council meeting convened by President Stevo Pendarovski to tackle the coronavirus epidemic, urged political leadership to reconsider the possibility of early parliamentary elections.
Members of the Election Commission during today’s meeting pointed out that it was not just Election Day that needed discussion, but also the fact that many people would have to get involved in this process and who would inevitably come in contact with each other.
The election commission members alone amount to 35.000, plus additional the of the State Commission, a large number of administrative, technical and logistical bodies involved in the election, as the Commission underlines. In addition, 3,200 medical staff employees who are also members of electoral commissions should be replaced, according to the Commission. /ibna
