North Macedonia: Dimitrov heads to Paris in support of first EU Intergovernmental Conference

Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov will be paying a working visit to France today and tomorrow, as announced by the Secretariat for European Affairs, which underlined that this constitutes an extremely important moment for North Macedonia, in anticipation of the definition of the Negotiating Framework for the integration of the data deriving from the new methodology for the accession negotiations, which was launched right here in Paris.

During his visit to Paris, the first one since the formation of the new government, Dimitrov is scheduled to meet with Minister for European Affairs at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Clément Beaune, Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the French Senate Jean-François Rapin, Diplomatic Adviser for Continental Europe and Turkey to Emmanuel Macron’s Cabinet Isabelle Dumont, with Deputy Secretary-General for European Affairs of the French Government Caroline Wine, as well as with Liliana Tangi, Member of the National Assembly.

Talks will focus on the French support during this decisive phase of the European integration of North Macedonia with the conduction of the first Intergovernmental Conference with the EU by the end of the year, on the dynamics of the adoption of the negotiating framework, while the North Macedonian Minister will also discuss his country’s progress as outlined in the European Commission report, alongside key EU priorities – the agenda that will be at the epicenter of the government’s work over the next period, according to the Secretariat for European Affairs. /ibna
