The last name in the new coalition government has finally been revealed, with Jeton Shaqiri from Struga being the new Minister of Information Society and Administration. Shaqiri is a professor at the International University of Struga and was elected to the new parliament. According to the Koha newspaper, Shaqiri is close to Struga Mayor, Ramiz Merko.
His election is likely part of a backlash in the party over the appointments of Bujar Osmani and Artan Grubi and to some extent Fatmir Besimi. Some of the strongest local party organizations, such as in Struga, have been the most vocal protests, so the election of the former director of the community water company in Struga is probably part of this deal.
The main candidate for Minister in the Ministry of Information Society and Administration was the current Deputy Minister of Finance, Shiret Elezi, but she did not receive support from the Central Commission of the party./ibna
