French ambassador to Pristina, Maryse Daviet, declared today that the talks for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia are in the best interest of the two countries.
Daviet called for the continuation of these talks, which according to her, will have a positive effect on the European future of Kosovo.
“Dialogue with Serbia is not against Kosovo’s national interests, it is not against Kosovars. Dialogue is the best path in protecting your national interests and guarantee the process of integration”, Daviet said.
The French diplomat also said that corruption continues to be a big problem in the Republic of Kosovo.
“It’s up to you and your politicians to consolidate your state. The biggest problem for you is corruption and your relations with the European Union are contractual and they will not go very well with this type of corruption”, Daviet said.
Meanwhile, Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa declared that he will not go to Brussels to talk to the Serb side, if Kosovo is not recommended for the liberalization of visas. /ibna/
