United Nations intermediary for the solution of the name dispute between the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Matthew Nimetz has called a fresh round of negotiations for the solution of the name dispute between Skopje and Athens.
The new meeting was scheduled to take place on March 26th, 2014 in New York and this was announced by ambassador’s Nimets press office and this was also confirmed by government in Skopje.
Skopje will be represented by its ambassador in Washington DC, Zoran Jolevski, while Athens will be represented by Adamantios Vasilakis, who has led these negotiations so far.
Nimetz will first hold separate meetings with the sides and then will hold a joint meeting at the UNO headquarters.
The last negotiation round were held in October last year, when Nimetz had stressed that there were differences between the sides on the issue of the name dispute. /ibna/
