Nikos Kotzias denounces political persecutions in the Foreign Ministry, with references to SYRIZA

The former minister and protagonist in the process of the Prespa Agreement, Nikos Kotzias, is accusing the Foreign Ministry of political persecutions.

The former minister accuses the new Foreign Minister, Niko Dendias, of proceeding with the cancellations of transfers and the removal of diplomats from their post. “Mr. Dendias has to realize that the era of irresponsible leaders has long been over,” says Nikos Kotzias, speaking of actions that expose Greece internationally.

His former colleagues in SYRIZA did not escape his criticism, as he notes that the actions of ND are happening “with the complicit silence of ‘competent’ members of the main opposition”.

In particular, he denounces the removal of Tasia Athanasiou, Ambassador of Greece in Moscow, who just 20 days ago handed her credentials, personally, to the President of Russia, as the former minister says.

He also stressed that the policy of vengeance has turned against all the ambassadors who participated in the negotiation of Crans-Montana in 2017, during which the UN adopted the Greek proposal for a Cyprus as a normal state, without a system of guarantees and occupying troops, and against all diplomats who contributed to the solution of the nomenclature dispute with North Macedonia, such as the Ambassador in Ankara, Petros Mavroidis./ibna
