9 September 2017 will be the date of the start of the new parliamentary legislative period.
This was decreed by the President of Republic, Ilir Meta, according to whom, this will be the official start of the new Albanian parliament, who came out of the general elections held on 25 June 2017.
According to the parliament’s rule book, the first session is presided by the most senior MP.
Also, parliament elects three MPs for the secretariat, which will handle the procedures for the election of the new speaker of the Assembly.
The new Albanian parliament has 140 MPs, from which 74 belong to the Socialist Party, 43 belong to the Democratic Party, 19 belong to the Socialist Movement for Integration, 3 belong to the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity and 1 MP belongs to the Social Democratic Party. /balkaneu.com/
