NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen has said that NATO’s intervention in the Kosovo crisis aimed at preventing genocide and has been in accordance with the United Nations charter.
“In an attempt to defend the illegitimate annexation of Crimea, Russian leaders have attacked the legitimacy of NATO’s operations in Libya and Kosovo”, said Rassmussen in Tallinn, Estonia, international media report.
The secretary general has accused Russia of overturning facts, stressing that operations in Libya have been conducted in compliance with the UN Security Council.
“In Kosovo, the scope has been to prevent genocide and this has been done in compliance with the UNO Charter”, said he.
NATO Secretary General dedicated the majority part of his speech to the crisis in Ukraine, for which he accused the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. /ibna/
