Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias had a meeting on Monday with Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Taha Siala, on the sidelines of the High Level Week of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, Libya’s stability prospects were examined, as well as topical issues of mutual interest on security and stability in the Mediterranean. The security situation in Tripoli was also debated, in line with the prospect of the reopening of the Greek Embassy there. There were also issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, education and research.
Finally, the Foreign Minister addressed invitations to his Libyan counterpart to participate in the next Rhodes Conference on Security and Stability in the Mediterranean, as well as at the International Conference on “Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Coexistence in the Middle East”, both which he accepted./IBNA
