MZT Skopje basketball club was announced last night national champion in the framework of the Basketball Super league in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
The players of this club have defeated their capital rival BK Rabotnicki 88 to 79.
“This is another victory for us and we have shown that we’re champions. I’d like to congratulate the supporters and fans of the club”, declared the manager of the club, Zoran Martic. Crucial for this victory were players of the national basketball team such as Damjan Stojanovski, Todor Gecevski, etc. MZT Skopje went to the final, following a clean victory against Albanian club “Liria”, which refused to play the match without its fans.
The federation didn’t accept the request, while the club refused to play the match.
MZT Skopje won the championship title for the third time in a row. The Basketball Super League has a total of nine teams. /ibna/
