On Tuesday, the Hakkari governor’s office announced that a young woman, mother of an 11-month-old baby and the child were killed by a PKK roadside bombing, in the Hakkari province in the south east corner of Turkey.
The bomb exploded when a car carrying the civilians passed through the Yuksekova district, Anadolu reports, with the mother dying instantly whereas the baby “succumbed to his wounds at the Yuksekova Public Hospital.”
The Kurdish PKK organisation is considered and listed as a terrorist one in Turkey (also by the U.S. and the EU) and in the past hours, there is an ongoing operation in the wider region to “nab the terrorists”.
The deceased woman was the wife of a Turkish soldier…. / IBNA
