According to the association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE), the tourist arrivals in January and February of 2014 increased by 28.8% compared to the same period of 2013.
These findings represent data collected from the country’s major airports, according to which Athens continues its upward trend concerning tourist arrivals that was registered during the last months of 2013. Tourist arrivals at Eleutherios Venizelos, Athens’ airport, showed 30% rise or 60,000 people in January and February, compared to the same period in 2013.
A senior member of TUI, the largest tourist organisation in the world, in a meeting with the Greek Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, in Berlin a few days back, spoke of the “rebirth” of Greek tourism.
