Montenegro receives 30,000 vaccine doses from China

The donation of the People’s Republic of China of 30,000 Sinofarm vaccines against the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in Montenegro today. The valuable donation represents yet another proof of the extremely good cooperation and traditional friendship between the two countries and peoples.

On behalf of the Government of Montenegro, the donation was received by Health Minister Jelena Borovinić Bojović, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister Srećko Crnogorac, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Head of the Public Relations Service Andrijana Đordan, as well as by Director General of the Digital Health Directorate at the Ministry of Health Aleksandar Sekulić. The donor country was represented by Liu Jin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Montenegro.

Expressing her deep gratitude to the people of China and her satisfaction for the arrival to Montenegro of the donation of the Chinese Sinofarm vaccines by the People’s Republic of China, Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović expressed expectation and hope that there more such meetings would follow in the future and called on all citizens to respond to vaccination.

“I believe that the number of vaccinated will meet our expectations. I use this opportunity once again to appeal to citizens to be vaccinated, but also to adhere to all measures, because the immunization process requires a certain time of action. Accordingly, I ask citizens to respect all epidemiological measures in order to protect their own health and of all citizens of Montenegro,” said Minister Borovinić Bojović.

She once again expressed great gratitude and joy for the arrival of the Chinese vaccines in Montenegro.

“This is another proof of the friendly relations and great solidarity between our two countries, so on behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health and myself, I would like to thank once again the People’s Republic of China, the President, their citizens and His Excellency,” said the Minister of Health.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Montenegro Liu Jin expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of 30,000 doses of the Chinese vaccine which his country donated to Montenegro.

“Montenegro is among the first countries in Europe to receive a donation of vaccines from China, which symbolizes the friendship and good intentions of the Chinese people for Montenegro. Today’s donation highlights the traditional friendship of the two countries and the fact that we are good partners. We believe that the vaccines will help Montenegro win the fight against the pandemic as soon as possible,” said the Chinese ambassador, emphasizing that the Chinese and Montenegrin governments have agreed to procure the necessary quantities of Chinese vaccines for Montenegro. /ibna
