Montenegro: Demos demands urgent meeting of parliamentary majority

The parliamentary majority needs to meet urgently and face the very complex situation in the country and in state institutions in a democratic way, the Presidency of Demos concluded.

At the session of the Presidency, it was concluded that all those who won mandates on August 30 should urgently launch a democratic, modern, reform initiative, which, as they stated, would stop and reverse the negative, increasingly risky direction of social processes in Montenegrin society.

“Instead of inflation of statements by representatives of pop politics, mainly about the defence of the people, let’s try to defend citizens who are legitimately interested in their real life,” it is stated in the conclusions.

It was assessed that not only has a value-functional system not been established but that there are no indications that it is moving towards that. Therefore, it is necessary for the representatives of the parliamentary majority to try to urgently stop the negative, at times the dramatic course of the development of Montenegrin society.

“The parliamentary majority needs to meet urgently and face the very complex situation in the country and in the state institutions themselves in a democratic way,” the statement added.

It was emphasized at the session that the reason for a more serious initiative lies in the fact that the government, especially some of its segments, are not able to face the country’s problems. Also, according to many opinions, “a minor prime minister (Zdravko Krivokapić) was elected for that place in the church, now by all accounts, depends on many, even non-church hands”.
