Missing persons remain one of the biggest scars left by the war in Kosovo, while the task to find them remains one of the most urgent and important ones for everyone.

On the World Day of Missing People, President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci said today that efforts are being made to find those who disappeared around 20 years ago.

“The war has left many wounds, but that of missing people is one of the biggest ones. It is an urgent need, a humanitarian duty and an obligation for everyone to discover the destiny of missing people, regardless of their ethnicity”, the president said.

Thaci demanded more efforts to be made in order to do justice, by bringing to justice all the perpetrators of crime.

In Kosovo, nothing is yet known on the destiny of 1700 people who have gone missing. Their families demand for this issue to be discussed in Brussels in the dialogue between pristine and Belgrade brokered by the European Union. /balkaneu.com/
