The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi has made changes in his government by appointing two new ministers.
Mr. Thaçi appointed Mr. Besim Beqaj in the post of the Minister of Finance and Fadil Ismajli as Minister of Economic Development (photo).
Besim Beqaj used to hold the post of the Minister of Economic Development, whereas Fadil Ismajli was proposed by the Alliance for New Kosovo (AKR). Ismajli was the head of the Office of Transmission and Sale of Energy.
Through a press release, the government of Kosovo said that the appointment has been made based on the constitutional and legal powers of the Prime Minister.
The post of the Minister of Finances remained vacant after the former head of this institution, Bedri Hamza stood down a few months ago.
After his resignation, Hamza was elected as the governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo.
The changes in the government follow the negotiations between Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi and deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli.
These changes were made after Agim Çeku, Minister of the Kosovo Security Forces joined the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). He held the post of minister in the quality of the Alliance for New Kosovo (AKR). /ibna/
