“Relationship with emigration and the Albanian Diaspora represent a priority of the new government. We must admit that we have delayed this issue way too much”.
This is how the new minister of State for the Diaspora, Pandeli Majko started his speech today in parliament. According to Majko, the right of vote of Albanian migrant workers is very important and the new government will try to make it possible during the next four years in office.
“There will be cooperation with neighboring countries about issues of emigration and Diaspora. The right of vote is a request that comes from countries where Albanians live and work, such as Greece, Italy, Britain, USA, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada and Australia. What’s important is to build structures that will back the sustainability of a state policy which will help the return of the emigrants to their country, if they want to or if they want to invest here”, Majko said. /balkaneu.com/
