Former minister of Education in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Perso Stojanovski has been sentenced to 3 and a half years of imprisonment on the count of abuse in the line of duty and misuse of funds.

The criminal charges, which had not been made public, were filed by the ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Stojanovski, former ambassador of FYROM in Australia, has left been living in Australia for a while now. He stayed in Australia after he left office.

Before the final ruling, Stojanovski will face the ruling of the first instance of the Court of Appeal.

If the Appeal upholds the ruling, an extradition order will be issued for Stojanovski. /ibna/
