On his first day in office, the Minister of European Integration, Bekim Collaku has met with all the EU ambassadors in Kosovo.
In this meeting, Collaku expressed the commitment of the government to address key reforms in the process of integration, stressing the rule of law, economic development and reform in public administration.
“During this meeting, minister Collaku underlined the importance of signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Kosovo and the EU. As far as the liberalization of the visa regime is concerned, the minister stressed that in the weeks to come, all institutions must be engaged in order to meet the recommendations left for the liberalization of the visa regime”, reads the press statement.
Minister Collaku also pledged that he will work more to prevent illegal migration.
The EU ambassadors congratulated minister Collaku on his new post by offering him their cooperation for the ministry that he will lead.
In collaboration with foreign embassies in Kosovo, the government has undertaken a campaign in order to raise the awareness of the citizens for the liberalization of the visa regime.
Through TV ads and leaflets, citizens of Kosovo are being informed about the risks of illegal emigration in EU countries.
The new government has also promised that at the end of 2015 or start of 2016, citizens of Kosovo will be able to travel without visas in the EU countries. /ibna/
