Current President Kolinda Garbar-Kitarovic will fight alongside Social Democrat candidate Zoran Milanovic (photo) for the position of the President in the second round of the presidential elections to be held on January 5, 2020, as they are the frontrunners, according to the exit polls announced after the polls closed at 19:00 (local time).
As the exit polls indicate, former Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic is in the lead with 29.58% against the 26.38% of his opponent and current Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic. Pop singer Miroslav Škoro is unlikely to make it through the second round, as the exit polls project a percentage of 24.10%. As for the remaining candidates for Presidency, exit polls show 5.82% for Mislav Kolakušić, 4.36% for Dario Juričan, 3.28% for Dalija Orešković, 2.35% for Ivan Pernar, 1.11% for Katarina Peović, 0.98% for Dejan Kovač and 0.4% for Nedjeljko Babić.
The polls opened at 07:00 (local time) Sunday morning for the Presidential Election, where 3,854,774 registered voters were eligible to vote for the next Croatian President. /ibna
