Migrants flows are growing – Incidents in Mytilene

At least 1,728 migrants were collected in the last three days by the Coast Guard in the eastern Aegean islands.

Irregular migrants were rescued in 66 research events which took place from Friday morning 14/08 until Monday 17/08 in Samothrace islands, Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Agathonisi, Kalolimnos, Kos, Megisti.

More than 1,166 Syrians refugees have boarded and are hosted on the passenger ferry “Eleftherios Venizelos”, located in the port of Kos.

This was announced the morning, according to a recount, the Coast Guard. For security reasons, aboard the ship are forces of the police and the coastal guard.

Incidents in Mytilene

There was chaos on Monday in Mytilene when illegal refugees who were waiting to be recorded by the authorities, started fighting among themselves. According to lesvosnews.gr, some migrants attempted to cut the line, causing tensions to rise and start fighting. Indeed, some of them exchanged words with the police, but the situation cooled down after a while without any serious injuries.
