MIA news agency reports that today, during a meeting in Brussels, the Slovak MEP Eduard Kukan of the European People’s Party said that the ND President, Kyriakos Mitsotakis has already said to the EPP members that “he will not be totally negative” regarding the solution of the name dispute.
“I could not tell you exactly what the ND head has said but he has mentioned he will not be totally negative to the resolution of the name issue”, MIA reports that Kukan said at the meeting. The vice president of the fYROMacedonian government, responsible for European Affairs, Bujar Osmani also participated in the meeting.
According to MIA news agency, when Kukan was asked to clarify what the ND president had said, Kukan replied that this is a “behind-the-scenes matter, since some things cannot be discussed in front of journalists because the actual name dispute would be harmed.”
MIA wrote that the Slovak MEP added that EPP members told the ND head his party should “see things from a broader point of view”, that he should take into account all positive results the solution has in store for both countries and that “he should be a visionary”…. / IBNA
