During a meeting held with the European Commissioner, Johannes Hahn, the President of Albania, Ilir Meta said that accession in the European Union is a national strategic project.
According to him, this process deserves full institutional and civil engagement for the delivery of the 5 priorities, the implementation of which will lead to the start of accession talks.
On the other hand, the head of the Albanian state said that fight against organized crime and the implementation of the reform in the justice system must advance, not only to enable the country to launch its accession talks, but also for a long term plan which aims at strengthening the rule of law in the country.
President Meta and commissioner Hahn also discussed on the developments in the region, where they stressed the importance of the EU engagement in speeding up democratizing and integrating processes of all the countries of Western Balkans. /balkaneu.com/
