Tirana, April 22, 2013
Jani Jani, member of the Central Election Commission, proposed by the Unity for Human Rights Party, has resigned from this institution.
He has announced this through a letter sent to the Central Election Commission and for the attention of the Albanian parliament too. “My colleagues and I sworn before Parliament for our honor”, writes amongst others Mr. Jani in his letter of resignation, adding that “in the recent days there has been an increasing threat to the professional integrity of the CEC members.”
On Thursday, Jani Jani declared that he would “freeze” relations with the CEC following Parliament’s decision to dismiss the member of the CEC, Iliran Muho and the resignations of the two other members, Denar Biba and Albana Shtylla. /ibna/
