Mayor of Mitrovica, Agim Bahtiri declared today that the Kosovar delegation in Brussels has insisted on the removal of barricades over the Iber river bridge.
According to a press statement issued by the press office of the municipality of Mitrovica, the position of the Kosovar side was supported by Brussels.
In Brussels, Bahtiri has talked about the great work that has been done to stabilize the situation, the return of those who have been displaced in their properties, the improvement of relations between Albanians and Serbia and a number of other issues.
“The barricades were not a good thing about the citizens, regardless of their ethnicity. They only contribute to the deterioration of human and ethnic relations, they prevent free movement of the people and goods, cooperation between people and businesses, economic development, encourage hate, cause tension and further destabilize the situation”.
“These stances and the stances of head negotiator, Edita Tahiri were supported by EU representatives”, Mr. Bahtiri is quoted to have said. /ibna/
