The mandate of the Special Prosecution which was established following the political agreement of June 2015 in FYROM, is running out. The task of this prosecution is to investigate the scandal with recorded conversations, but based on the law, the deadline for investigations and indictments expires on Friday.
So far, this prosecution is investigating 15 cases and indictments are expected to be made, while among the defendants is also the former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and other senior officials of his party.
The extension of the mandate of this prosecution can only be approved by Parliament through an absolute majority, but VMRO-DPMNE is against this. /balkaneu.com/
