The Albanian diaspora represents an extraordinary, and yet an unexploited potential for Albania. This was said by the Albanian minister for Diaspora, Pandeli Majko.
During the presentation of the UN program for migration (ONM), which aims at engaging the Albanian diaspora in order to help with Albania’s social and economic development, he added that this is a new chance for the diaspora.
This three year program will focus on the Albanian diaspora in Italy, where there are around 500 thousand Albanians living there.
On his part, the Italian ambassador, Alberto Cutillo stressed the importance of the role that the diaspora can play.
“Emigrants possess knowledge and talents. These are essential values for cooperation. Both of our countries can benefit from the engagement of the diaspora”, he said. /balkaneu.com/
