Macedonian opposition led by Macedonian Social Democratic League (LSDM) declared today that it will not recognize the new president of the country, George Ivanov. According to a press statement released by the opposition, this decision has been taken because Ivanov has been elected in a criminal and non democratic way.

“These are the reasons why we don’t recognize him as a legitimate president. The certificate that he received yesterday by the State Election Commission is a mere piece of paper, which doesn’t express the will of the citizens of Macedonia”, declared LSDM.

After this declaration came the reaction of VMRO-DPMNE of Nikola Gruevski.

“In a criminal, unfair and non democratic way, Zoran Zaev had been released from custody by the same person who in a criminal way, had stuffed the ballot boxes and had occupied the position of the president of the state. In contrast, on April 13 and 27, there were fair and democratic elections where the citizens expressed their will and ousted the old characters of politics who presented themselves as new ones. These people are objecting the free will of over 530 thousand people who voted for the president of Macedonia, George Ivanov”, declared VMRO-DPMNE, which also won the early parliamentary elections with an absolute majority of votes. /ibna/
