The film by Pantelis Voulgaris ‘Little England’, which was based on the book of Ioanna Karystiani and swept every greek award, while selling 360,000 tickets, is the official submission of Greece for the Oscar of Foreign Language Film.
The committee will select five films, which will receive the anointing of the formal application. The last time a greek movie was nominated for this category was in 2010 with “Dogtooth”, by Yorgos Lanthimos.
The news of the nomination was not reported by the Ministry of Culture, but by Screen International. The final date for submitting applications for the countries, is October 1, 2014.
