Representatives of all political parties have agreed on coming out with a joint declaration in order to guarantee EU countries that it is ready to complete the demarcation of border with Montenegro.
The draft declaration, which aims at speeding up the process of the liberalization of visas, was produced after a meeting between the speaker of parliament, Kadri Veseli and representatives of the parliamentary groups.
“In spite of the differences which they have on the way of border demarcation between Kosovo and Montenegro, the governing coalition and the opposition remain united in completing this process as soon as possible”, the declaration says.
The declaration which will be delivered to representatives of the European Union, contains the following:
We, MPs of Kosovo, are committed for the integration of our country in the European Union, through the strengthening of democracy, law and human rights.
We are committed for good neighboring relations, peace, stability and good cooperation with Montenegro and other neighboring countries.
In spite of the differences which they have on the way of border demarcation between Kosovo and Montenegro, the governing coalition and the opposition remain united in completing this process as soon as possible.
Bearing in mind this consensus, we, as representatives of the people, request the understanding of the EU member countries to grant the citizens of Kosovo the right of free movement in the Schengen Area.
We would like to inform you that the institutions of Kosovo have delivered all the criteria requested by the guideline for the liberalization of visas.
But there are two criteria which are constantly repeated by the international community. Besides the border demarcation, another very important criteria is the fight against organized crime. /balkaneu.com/
