The leadership of the National Democratic Renaissance (RDK), the Albanian party which only won a seat in parliament, has stepped down as a result of the negative result.

RDK is known to be the party of known Albanian experts and intellectuals in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

But, the steering committee of this party declared last evening that it doesn’t recognize the elections, as according to it, there have been frauds by offering money in exchange of the votes from the current parties in power, VMRO-DPMNE and BDI (Democratic Union for Integration).

“The Central Assembly of RDK doesn’t accept the rigged and non democratic results of April 27 parliamentary elections. RDK recommends the intermediacy of the international factor and the appointment of a coalition government in order to cleanse the electoral list and hold free and democratic elections as a condition for the restoration of democracy in the country” said the resigning leader, Rufi Osmani, who is the only one to have been elected as an MP from this party.

According to him, the resignation relates to moral responsibilities for not achieving results in the April 27 elections.

After LSDM, the largest opposition Macedonian party, RDK is the second political force in Skopje which declares that it is not going to recognize the elections. /ibna/
