Leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration encourages the Albanian Prime Minister to make compromise about the three laws

Shkoder, May 10, 2013

The chairman of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta, presented today in Shkoder the candidate MPs of this political party for the June 23 elections.

During his speech, Meta declared that within the next two governing mandates, the left wing will turn the entire process of integration into reality. According to him, Shkoder will have its say during the June 23 polls.

“Ten days ago I offered compromise for the voting of the three laws of the integration within these last days of the parliament’s mandate, asking for these laws to come into force in September with the new parliament. While the chairman of the Socialist Party has accepted this compromise, I’m disappointed by the chairman of the Democratic Party, who pretends that he doesn’t understand this compromise, by asking for the laws to be voted as they are and to come into force immediately, because he doesn’t care about the three laws, but only cares to fill the Supreme Court with militants. I urge Prime Minister Berisha to accept this compromise in order for Albania to make a step forward toward integration”, said Meta. Meta also said that his political force entered a coalition with the DP in 2009 for the sake of stability and the historical circumstances of the country. The chairman of the SMI underlined the fact that Albania needs a change now, not just a political rotation, that it needs a different vision which will put an end once and for all to this politics of conflict. Meta expressed his conviction that Shkoder will vote SMI on June 23, because SMI builds political and social bridges for the best interest of the people. /ibna/
