Fier, May 29, 2013
The leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta met today with representatives and workers of a textile business in Fier. During this meeting, Meta said that, “this sector deserves more support by the government, because it is currently the biggest generator of employment in our country, especially for women”.
“SMI is convinced that through a greater support by the state and next government, these jobs will not only be preserved, but they will be multiplied, thus expanding these activities by performing the full cycle of activities in the country and especially by increasing Albanian exports to other countries, above all the EU”, said he.
The leader of the SMI expressed his engagement to offer grants and low interest loans to the textile industry, especially for those businesses that offer more new jobs. Meta said that the SMI plans to subsidize a part of the salary of all those women who start working for the first time in this sector, until they achieve the necessary experience.
“In this aspect, we’re committed to help especially in funding the textile industry in for it to better manage its long term loans. At the same time, we will offer loans at 3% interest rate for these businesses, especially for those that create new jobs, in order to subsidize a part of the salary for all those women who start work for the first time in this sector until they achieve the necessary experience.
By supporting the textile industry, we make a positive social impact at a difficult time of crisis, when employment continues to be the main problem of the majority of Albanian households”, said Meta during this meeting. /ibna/
