Leader of the largest Albanian opposition party PDSH (Albanian Democratic Party), Menduh Thaci demands a fresh trial to take place on the so called “Monstra” case, following the conviction of six Albanians to life in prison for the murder of five Macedonians in Smilkovc, Skopje, taken place in April 2012.
“The state must provide facts. Even the court ruling has not been made entirely public to see if there are facts or not. This process doesn’t seem to be a credible one and it must be repeated”, declared Menduh thaci, following the meetings that he had last evening in Skopje with the US ambassador, Paul Volers and EU ambassador, Aivo Orav.
According to him, this case is the zenith of the problems and discrimination being made to Albanians for years in a row.
Speaking about the protests held by Albanian ethnics, head of PDSH said that they are legitimate, but demanded for protesters to restrain themselves from acts of violence.
“It’s normal for people to protest, but I called on them on behalf of the party to hold peaceful protests, as violent protests only serve the interests of those who hate Albanians”, said Thaci. /ibna/
