Leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Lulzim Basha has met today with the General Attorney, Adriatik Llalla.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the opposition hasn’t talked for the media, but information on the meeting was given by the Eduard Halimi MP, who was present in this meeting.
Halimi said that two charges were pressed for the violent episode taken place in parliament between the democrat MP, Gent Strazimiri and the socialist MPs, Arben Ndoka and Pjerin Ndreu.
Halimi said that the second charge was pressed against Ndoka MP, for which he said that he has threatened the spokeswoman of the Democratic Party, Laura Vorpsi.
“We demanded from the prosecution urgent and efficient steps in order for the inquiry on the aggressors to start as soon as possible and in order for institutions to function. It’s important that institutions function, in order for the justice system to be independent and for violence not to prevail over arbitrariness. When the free speech is replaced by violence, than democracy is at risk”, said Halimi.
The democrat MP said that during this meeting, the prosecution was asked to perform its constitutional and institutional duty by bringing the perpetrators of violence before justice. /ibna/
