Leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha had a meeting today with the head of the Directorate for Southeastern Europe at the German Foreign Ministry, Ernst Reichel and ambassador of Germany in Albania, Helmut Hoffman.
During this meeting, Basha thanked Mr. Reichel about the precious assistance that Germany has offered to Albania during this period and reconfirmed the determination of the Democratic Party and Albanian opposition to contribute in strengthening further relations between the two countries in all domains.
The head of the Democrat Party also reconfirmed the determination of the Democratic Party and Albanian opposition to support all further steps of Albania in the process of its integration in the EU in order to finalize this great project as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Reichel considered the June 23 elections as a major progress of Albania, something which will help the country in being granted the EU candidate status.
The meeting also focused on the latest political developments in the country.
Basha shared with Reichel the great concern of the Democratic Party and Albanian opposition for the unconstructive approach followed in the first weeks of the governing coalition, starting from the verbal violence against the opposition to the attack against public administration.
“The latest approval of the normative act of the government in full lack of transparency, by executing the consensus that the bill had when it was voted in parliament consists on a bad omen which clearly shows the intentions of the new majority and Rama’s government for the country”, said Basha.
Basha also said that the Albanian opposition will stand strong in order to support with all lawful means the public administration against the arbitrary acts of the majority. /ibna/
