European Union will grant the candidate status to Albania within this year as a result of the extraordinary efforts made by the government of Democratic Party.
This was declared today by the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha during a meeting with the Greek ambassador, Leonidas Rokanas.
Greek ambassador praised the Democratic Party for the role that its government played in the success of the most important economic project of the region, that of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline.
He also praised the work and lobbying done by former Prime Minister Berisha for the success of this project, which will drastically change the economies of the region’s countries.
The meeting also discussed the role of the Democratic Party during its government in the consolidation of relations between the two countries and cooperation in the future in the framework of the relations between our two countries.
Basha assured ambassador Rokanas that the Democratic Party will continue to play an important and constructive role in the process of the European integration of Albania and demanded the full support of the neighboring country in this process. /ibna/
