The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj has been arrested in Slovenia.
His arrest has taken place today upon his return from an official visit to Berlin.
Haradinaj has been stopped at the airport of Ljubljana, in Slovenia, following an arrest want order issued by Serb police in 2006.
In a statement following the arrest of the leader, AAK says that the leader of AAK must be allowed to travel to Pristina and considers his arrest as an intentional attack against his personality and what Ramush Haradinaj represents.
Speaking for the media in Kosovo, Haradinaj says that he was stopped in the Ljubljana airport following an arrest warrant issued by Serbia in 2006.
“This warrant has been cleared from all airports, but not in Ljubljana. Here, they are like their brothers”, says Haradinaj.
The leader of AAK will stay in Ljubljana airport for several hours, until all procedures are complete. /ibna/
