Popular Unity is expected to bring to the Supreme Court its request for the recount of votes in four municipalities of Attica, according to the statement of the party.
In the statement it is stressed that Panagiotis Lafazanis will ask for random checks at polling centers in the municipalities of Piraeus, Peristeri, Acharnes and Athens.
In the September 20 election, Popular Unity received 2.86% of the vote (155,242 ballots) failing to reach the 3% threshold required to gain representation in the House for just 4885 votes.

It is customary to carry out a random check after the elections by candidates, parties or voters.
In this context, as provided by the law on Supreme Special Court (Article 25), candidates of the Popular Unity submitted to the competent first instance courts, a request for sampling checks for any errors or omissions in the following municipalities: Athens, Peristeri, Acharnes and Nice and expects an answer to their request.
